These Terms of Use govern your access to and use of Discard Lab (“we,” “us,” or “our”), including our website at discardlab.com and the Discard Lab web application (collectively, the “Service”). By using the Service, you agree to these terms. If you do not agree, please do not use the Service.

1. Use of the Service

Discard Lab is a free educational and entertainment tool designed to help users learn and practice American Mahjong. You may use the Service for personal, non-commercial purposes. You agree not to:

•       Use the Service for any unlawful purpose

•       Attempt to gain unauthorized access to any part of the Service

•       Interfere with or disrupt the operation of the Service

•       Copy, reproduce, or redistribute the Service or its content without our permission

•       Use automated tools, bots, or scrapers to access the Service

2. Intellectual property

All content on Discard Lab — including text, graphics, icons, and application code — is owned by or licensed to Discard Lab and protected by applicable intellectual property laws. You may not reproduce or distribute any content from the Service without our prior written permission.

Discard Lab is an independent product and is not affiliated with, endorsed by, or officially connected to the National Mah Jongg League (NMJL). References to NMJL rules and the annual card are for informational purposes only.

3. Disclaimer of warranties

The Service is provided “as is” and “as available” without warranties of any kind, express or implied. We do not warrant that the Service will be uninterrupted, error-free, or free of viruses or other harmful components. We make no warranty regarding the accuracy or completeness of any content on the Service, including game rules and hand information.

4. Limitation of liability

To the fullest extent permitted by law, Discard Lab shall not be liable for any indirect, incidental, special, consequential, or punitive damages arising from your use of the Service. Our total liability for any claim arising from your use of the Service is limited to the amount you paid us in the twelve months preceding the claim. Since the Service is free, this amount is $0.

5. Dispute resolution

Any disputes arising from these Terms or your use of the Service will first be addressed through informal negotiations. If informal negotiations do not resolve the dispute within 30 days, the dispute will be submitted to binding arbitration in Missouri, United States, in accordance with the rules of the American Arbitration Association. These Terms are governed by the laws of the State of Missouri.

6. Advertising

Discard Lab displays advertisements served by Google AdSense. We are not responsible for the content of third-party advertisements. Clicking on advertisements may take you to third-party websites governed by their own terms and privacy policies.

7. Changes to these terms

We may update these Terms of Use at any time. When we do, we will update the “Last updated” date at the top of this page. Continued use of the Service after changes are posted constitutes your acceptance of the revised terms.

8. Termination

We reserve the right to suspend or terminate access to the Service at any time, for any reason, without notice.
